The informal meetings have been completed as of today. Out of the 833 parcels within the town only 50 total people scheduled appointments to meet with Maxwell Appraisal Service to discuss their tentative assessments. The letters determining the outcome of these meeting will be mailed to individual homeowners the first week of May 2010. We are very pleased with our assessed values based on the percentage of people who came to see us for Informal meetings.

The next step in the process is the filing of the Tentative Tax roll which is May 1, 2010. After that time the Assessor Mike Maxwell will sit with the roll for viewing purposes. These dates and times will be posted prior to the sitting of the roll, on our website, as well as in the local paper and with the Town Clerk Ms. Brenda Weidman. You will still have time to file for a formal grievance if you like up until Grievance day which May 24 this year. The Formal Grievance forms are available to you online at the ORPS website at www.state.ny.us under the heading Quick links-“What to do if you disagree with your Assessment”. This will open another window with the RP-524 form and instructions and some other useful information for homeowners. They will also be available at the town clerks office during normal business hours.
